Blog Catch-Up

Looks like we've fallen off the blog wagon once again, but no fear, we're here to catch everyone up on what's been going on in our Keefer household...

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were great times spent with family and enjoying Katie's 1st Christmas experiences, such as meeting Santa, opening gifts and going on a three day binge of seeing the entire family, taking millions of pictures and eating every few hours :-)

Katie's 1st Birthday was ONEderful ;-) Family and friends came over for a birthday bash in a Winter ONEderland theme. Katie didn't love her Smash Cake but did love to play with all of the other kids. Thanks to Will for helping open the gifts and Uncle Tom for the great videography of the party :-) We still can't believe that we have a toddler, but at the same time, we can't seem to remember life without a kid. Guess that's the joy of parenthood.

Joe and I were lucky enough to take off the week between Christmas and New Year and we enjoyed spending time with Katie, assembling Xmas gifts and catching up on some home chores. We even had a chance to check out the children's area at the downtown library and Katie loved it.

Katie had her one year doc check-up at the end of January and she is a healthy one - 90th percentile in weight, 75th percentile in height and 75th percentile for her head. Her current words include socks, light, oh-oh, along with a lot of pointing. She switched to the "early" toddler room at Abacus which meant no bottles, one nap on a cot and eating the cafe. It took some adjustment fo Katie and us (seeing her little cot and table and chairs seemed too "big girl" for our little "baby", but Katie is enjoying her new friends and having playtime in the gym, along with arts and crafts. Other recent milestones include: facing forward for her car seat, getting her next set of teeth (up to 12 now) and starting to 'construct' with her blocks, not only 'destructing' :-)

Stephanie has switched jobs t Raytheon and while it means a bit more overtime, it's a good opportunity and there is never a dull moment :-)

Joe has been continuing his Thursday soccer games and his monthly Opus Dei fellowship events, along with getting back to the gym and toning his handsome physique.

As for the rest of January, we feel like we've blinked and it's already Valentine's Day. We celebrated Grandpa's birthday, hosted Sean and Sarah for a weekend, celebrated cousin Sara's 1st birthday and attended a fun Super Bowl party in Indi ...along with cold weather and this fluffy white stuff ;-) Currently, we getting ready for Lent and some travel for both Joe and I to Texas (at different times).
