Last summer Katie could only crawl and now with 8 months of walking experience, she is running this summer - everywhere. "Bubbul" time is the best, but throwing a ball, helping with landscaping, taking wagon rides and in general simply being outside are close seconds.- Katie is 18 months now and is truly learning more and more everyday. It's so fun to see her grow and change, yet have her own distinct personality. At her 18-month doc appointment, she weighed 29.5 lbs and measured 34 inches tall (96th and 97th percentile respectively ...let's just say the doc isn't worried about her appetite :-) She is saying so many words - some clear, some not so clear, but in general, we know what she is trying to say. At "school", she has learned all of her shapes except circle and knows blue, green, purple and orange. For some unknown reason, she also knows the letter "Y" - maybe it's Blue's Clues ;-) She has an awesome laugh (just like her dad) and is generally in a good mood; however, she still lets us know when she isn't happy. Some big changes for her coming up as we transition her to a big girl bed and hopefully no more pacifier.
- Joe is keeping busy with his golf league and church. I'm keeping busy trying to stay awake until bed time :-) Pregnancy is more tiring than I remember but it's easier in some ways because I have a constant reminder in little Katie - the 9 months is well worth it :-)
- We've been camping, gone on vacations, attended a niece's baptism (Joe became a godfather to little Maggie), hosted cousin Sarah and almost cousin-in-law Sean, spent lots of time outside and in general had a fun summer.
